● ABOUT
Building a Place To Be
It started around a table on a Thursday. A few people, a shared meal, and the simple idea that no one should have to step into adulthood alone.
For a lot of young adults who've been through foster care, turning eighteen doesn't come with a safety net. There's the practical stuff — housing, work, school, getting around — and underneath it, something quieter: a history of relationships that came and went too fast to lean on.
So we kept showing up. The Thursday table became a weekly rhythm — meals, rides, long conversations, the kind of friendships that stick around past the hard parts. Over time something shifts. Trust grows. People stop bracing for the next goodbye.
Tamarisk isn't a program. It's presence — slow, steady, ordinary. Someone who knows your name, knows what's going on in your week, and is still here the next one.
That's the whole idea. It started around a table. And it still is.

What Guides Tamarisk
●
Presence over programs
We show up consistently. That's the work.

Belonging before solutions
●
Around the table
Known first. Everything else follows from there.
Most weeks start with a shared meal.

Slow and steady
Built over time, not in a single moment.
